I didn’t really expect much, but after a long walk I was tired enough to give it a try. You just add water and it’s ready in a few minutes, which I have to admit was really easy.

"Good food, and thankfully not a pile of waste"
I ordered from basecampfood.com for a hiking trip and, it was nice to see a company actually being sensible about packaging for once. There wasn’t loads of pointless plastic or ridiculous filler stuffed in the box, which really shouldn’t feel like such a rare thing, but here we are.
The food itself was good and easy to pack out after I’d used it, so no complaints there. I do appreciate buying outdoor food from a place that doesn’t act like creating a small mountain of rubbish is part of the experience. I’d use them again, politely hoping they keep it up.

"Surprisingly easy camping food shop"
I was just looking for a few camping meals and, somehow, everything I wanted was actually in stock, which made me wonder if I’d missed something because that never seems to happen lately. Checkout was easy too, no messing about. Maybe I’m just too used to things being a hassle, but this was straightforward.

I was actually really happy with the range on basecampfood. Managed to sort meals, snacks, and drinks for a weekend trip all in one place, which was a shocking and frankly suspiciously convenient experience. Nice mix of brands too, so I didn’t have to bounce around loads of other sites like it was some kind of outdoor survival challenge before the actual camp. I’ll definitely use it again for my next trip.

I had a good experience using the site overall. The allergen labels were easy to spot on the meals I looked at, which made me feel a lot more comfortable placing an order. That said, I was a bit disappointed there weren’t more filter options, since that would make things way easier for people with food concerns. I’d expect some kind of small credit or discount until they improve that, but overall I did feel safe ordering.

"Delivery was almost suspiciously quick"
I ordered from Base Camp Food expecting it to take a few days, but it turned up really fast. Everything was packed properly and arrived with no issues at all. it kind of makes you wonder why other places make delivery feel so complicated. Nice when it just works without any hassle.

"Easy to check the ingredients"
The labels were clear overall, and I was able to check the ingredients without much trouble. I did ask support about allergens, and they basically said something like, “All the info is listed on the label,” which was helpful, but I still wish the allergen details were made to stand out a bit more

"Okay food, but slow service"
In the end, I was more annoyed than satisfied. The food was okay, nothing too bad, but the customer service took ages to get back to me. I had to follow up twice about my order, and when I finally got a reply, it wasn’t really that helpful. Bit frustrating, honestly.

"Shockingly, the dates were actually good"
I ordered a few meals for camping and, weirdly enough, they didn’t show up already flirting with their expiry date. The shelf life was much longer than I expected, and everything had plenty of time left on it. Super easy to stash away and forget about until I actually need it, which is pretty much the dream for camping food.

Not gonna lie, I was a little worried when the delivery box showed up a bit bashed, but everything inside was totally fine. Got exactly what I ordered and all the items were correct, so overall I’m happy with it.

I grabbed a few hiking meals from Base Camp Food they did the job really well. The calories for the weight are good, so I wasn’t having to cram a bunch of extra snacks into my pack. Everything was light, easy to organize, and kept me going on the longer days. Yeah, I’d use them again.

"Really happy with the delivery"
I ordered a few meals and was really happy with how everything turned up. The box was nice and sturdy, nothing was crushed or leaking, and it was all packed really neatly without a ton of extra rubbish. Everything looked properly clean and well sealed too. It might sound basic, but it makes such a big difference when you’re ordering food online. I’d definitely order again.

"Kept my pack nice and light"
I ordered a few meals from basecampfood.com before heading out for a weekend hike, mostly because I didnt want loads of weight in my bag. They were proper light and easy to pack, so it didnt feel like I was carrying half a shop around with me.
Delivery was all fine and the food did what I needed it to do. Nothing fancy to say really, but it helped keep the pack weight down and made the hike a bit easier

"Bigger portions than expected, but I’m still a little wary"
The portions were actually bigger than I expected and filled me up after a long day, so no real complaints there. I’ve been let down by camp food before, so I don’t fully trust the claims on the package right away, but this one did what it said. I’d probably order it again if I needed something easy...

"Rehydrated way better than expected"
Took a few Basecamp Food meals out on a wet weekend hike they did the job brilliantly. Just added hot water, left them for the time on the pack, and they came out spot on. No weird crunchy bits hiding at the bottom either, which I’ve had with other brands and it’s never fun. After a long day on the trail, it was exactly the kind of no-fuss meal I wanted.

"Solid food choice for a longer trek"
I used Basecamp Food before a 6-day trek and, it made planning food way less annoying. There were plenty of proper expedition meals and snacks to pick from, and the weight info was really useful when I was trying not to overpack. Very efficient service, which I appreciated.
Delivery was fine and everything arrived exactly as ordered. Some of the meals are a bit expensive, and a couple of flavours were just okay, not amazing, but overall it did the job really well. When you’re stuck in rough weather and just want something hot without any drama, it’s great. Would use them again, probably.
